About Ronan Lobo

I'm at an early stage in my career, fresh from film school. I have genuine ambitions to make it into the industry by being a master of writing, directing and producing films and TV shows of all genres, instead of sticking to a niche.

I've had the privilege of serving as a panellist for MIFF 2023, where I reviewed over 80 feature documentaries. Just like in that role, I love to learn and refine my skills with everything that I do.

My love of watching films and TV shows of differing genres has also helped foster a passion for this career strategy. I want to achieve this goal because it not only makes me a versatile professional but also leads to a career path ripe with diverse experiences to learn from and test myself.

I am drawn to storytelling for the process of discovering more about the world and shaping my understanding of it in all facets by exploring perspectives.

To me, stories are like viewing the world through different lenses; something I find personally enriching. Stories draw writers and audiences to engage with aspects of human nature and the mechanisms that can shape it. It makes life more intriguing as stories are a reflection of ourselves, hence why film and TV are so important to people. I want to master leading it all, not for my ego but to contribute to the conversations.
